Power Chords G-C-A-D
Focus on the accent pattern, make it as clear as possible.
Use all downstrokes.
With this power chord exercise we have an accent on beat two, the off beat of three, and the off beat of four. The other eighth notes are palm muted.
This exercise begins with a standard G power chord shape that is on the third fret sixth string. The second chord moves to a C power chord from the third fret fifth string.
The third chord is a A power chord which is on the fifth fret sixth string. The last measure is a D power chord on the fifth fret, fifth string.
Palm mute all the eighth notes in the chord progression, with the exception of the accented beats. Also, use down strokes though the whole progression, this will also help to make the chords sound a bit heaver, and will add more of a driving effect to the progression.
