Open Chord Drills E7-C7
Pro Tips:
Pro Tip:
Make sure that the sixth string doesn’t ring over the C7 chord.
This open chord drill is for the E7 and C7 chord. Begin this exercise by strumming an E7 chord and letting it ring for a whole note. Switch to the C7 chord and let that ring for a whole note.
The exercise continues by moving back to the E7 chord for a half note, and then the C7 chord for a half note. The last measure of this exercise is one quarter note on each chord back and fourth.
A helpful way to switch from the E7 chord to the C7 chord is to move your third finger to the third fret on the fifth string. Then build a basic C chord from there, once you get there add your fourth finger to the third fret of the thirds string. The C7 chord is really just a C chord with the fourth finger added.
