Pro Tips:
Pro Tip:
Use down strokes though the whole progression, this will also help to make the chords sound a bit heaver, and will add more of a driving effect to the progression.
Focus on the accent pattern, make it as clear as possible.
The accent pattern in this progression is a bit more difficult. Beat one, the and of beat two, and beat four is accented. The other eighth notes are palm muted.
This exercise begins with a standard A power chord shape that is on the fifth fret sixth string. The second chord moves to a F power chord from the first fret sixth string.
The third chord is a C power chord. Play this chord with your first finger on the fifth string third fret, third finger fourth string fifth fret, and the fourth finger on the fifth fret of the third string. Be careful to not pick the sixth string when playing this chord. The last measure is a G power chord on the third fret, sixth string.
Palm mute all the eighth notes in the chord progression, with the exception of the accented beats.
