Open Chord Drills Dm-G7
Pro Tips:
Pro Tip:
Hold each chord till the last possible second before switching to the next one.
Begin this exercise by strumming a D minor chord and letting it ring for a whole note. Switch to a G7 chord and let that ring for a whole note.
The exercise continues by moving back to the D minor chord for a half note, and then the G seven chord for a half note. The last measure of this exercise is one quarter note on each chord back and fourth.
This open chord drill has a common finger between the two chords. The first finger in the D minor chord is also in the G7 chord. Try to leave the first finger in place during the switch. This will give you a pivot point to work from. This will also help to make the switch easier.
