Open Chord Drills Em-Am
The open chord drills are a great way to get faster at switching from chord to chord. Begin this exercise by strumming an E minor chord and letting it ring for a whole note. Switch to an A minor chord and let that ring for a whole note.
The exercise continues by moving back to the E minor chord for a half note, and then the A minor chord for a half note. The last measure of this exercise is one quarter note on each chord back and fourth.
There is more than one fingering possibility with the E minor chord shape. I feel that using the second and third finger in this case will make it easier to switch to the A minor chord because of the similar shape.
