The A Minor pentatonic groupings of two strings is a sequence that takes the pentatonic scale in groupings of two strings, in four note sets. This type of scale sequence is used in thousands of guitar solos and is something that every guitar player would want be comfortable with.
The idea is that we play five sets of four notes over two strings. This exercise moves though all five patterns of the scale across the whole neck.
Begin playing pattern seven started on third fret using the note grouping patterns. Then move to the fifth fret playing pattern one. Pattern three from the eighth fret, pattern four on the tenth fret, and pattern five on the twelfth fret.
Next work your way back though the patterns back down to the third fret.
